Julie Andrews' character Victoria Grant meets Carol "Toddy" Todd (Preston) when she is scheming to plant the cockroach in her food at a fancy eating place sequentially for her meal gratis. She just can not buy function as the cabaret singer, however Hot toddy has a project. Victoria may pretend to exist as the human, & develop a job as a female imitator at the equivalent club she was turned out of earliest. Hot toddy may pretend to exist as her gay lover, & may introduce her to his contacts in the cabaret scene.
Soon Victor Grezhinski (Victoria's newly persona) is the toast of the Paris cabaret scene. When money & fame begin to turn her (& Hot toddy's) populates in, even more, an extra complication arises: King Marchand (James Garner), an American gangster and nightclub creator ab initio is repelled by Victor's sex and so strangely attracted to Victor.
Victoria must came to terms by owning what she really wants away from life: exist as true to herself, rendering higher a fame of her career within Paris (which would exist as shattered whenever she is detected to become a wohuman) to exist as by using the man world health organization loves her, or even prove my point by using her double-performance & chance Marchand's love for fear of him appearing homo to his contender.
